More SOTW Suggestions

This has been talked about before, and I think has been done once.

I think a prize pool should be added for the winner of SOTW (More incentive to participate)

Here are some ideas.

  1. Members can donate to a prize pool. Anything like cash, coupons, services, bonds,  07gp, etc.
  2.  VIP(No PiP) given to the winner.
  3. Current designers can discuss whether the winner is eligible for having the Designer rank after the person wins the SOTW.
  4. A "Trophy/Ribbon" that they can put in their signature to tell people which SOTW they have won and with what signature (I could make this)

Nobody HAS to donate anything and the SOTW would still be a go if no donations were recieved.

Thoughts?

1. No - SOTW is not a rumble to get money from. It's to show your work, to create something you might not be the best at (theme) and to compete, not for money grabbing.

2. No - I won't complain if you create the SOTW winner worth as much as VIP (Same benefits), but do not change the title.

3. Undecided

4. No - Assuming they have won, I would think they're able to create such signature themselves, lol

1. It isn't for money grab and no one has to donate. But it does give incentive and will make it more active.

2. That's what I meant

3. And? Why would someone make their own.

Just because I can buy myself a trophy doesn't make me do it.

That'd feel egotistical as fuck.

Like. Imagine you won a contest, and bought yourself a trophy.

People would think you're a douchebag.

Good point, but isn't PiP enough?

Maybe mark these PiPs, for example, SOTW #17, etc.

How is it fair for the ones that do donate to compete with the ones who do not and they both can win out of the same pool?

Signature of the week.

It's called donating because you give something away for a good cause which is in this case the prize pool of the SOTW competition.

But that's why I stated that I don't think it's going to be a success as people don't really tend to give away their stuff. At least not for a SOTW prize pool.
