once made a 10 chamber gatorade bottle bong using plastic piping to connect each one, you had to prop it up against a chair or something it was like 5 foot tall in the end and very unstable, but a hell of a rip

sobe hard plastic bottle, sodering iron, poke a nice symmetrical hole in it, then stick a pen that fits in it, and put a socket wrench on the top 

I'd say look into making a Gravity Bong.

 

I personally own a portable vaporizer called which is rather expensive,

but hits great and is in the end worth it because it comes with a 10 year warranty.

 

When I was new to smoking I used a Piece or a Homemade bong out of Gatorade bottles or other household supplies but 

the best possible Homemade bong I've used is a Gravity Bong using a 2 Liter Soda bottle and a bowl of water deep enough to submerge most of the bottle after cutting out the bottom. You light the top then slowly pull up and the inside of the bong acts as a vacuum keeping most of the smoke inside until your ready to hit, definitely worth looking into if you have a very small amount of herb or want to get really high.

Nope only dropping acid and 1960's counterculture can produce visionaries such as Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, sadly bong-making skills won't help too much.
