Botting chain bans?

Featured Replies

I'm an occasional botter and I have a question regarding the safety of my legitimate main account I play on. If the account I'm botting were to be banned what's the odds they would also ban my legitimate main at the same time? Also would buying a VPN completely eliminate this possibility? Another question if I receive a ban on the VPN would it flag the VPN therefore making botting on that VPN virtually impossible? Thanks for the answers :)

Buying a vpn will not completely eliminate this possibility. Jagex not only flags the ip, they can also flag your computer by .dat files. You have to use a VPS, where nothing is run through your computer nor your ip.

I often delete everything associated with jagex caches on my computer.

Botting is not safe..

Botting is not safe..

I didn't really ask whether or not it was safe to bot right now so your response is helpful I know there's bans that are going to happen while botting. I want to know if your main can be chain banned if you create/bot only on a VPN while your main only plays on your home ip.

...Botting has never been safe.

Perhaps botting has never been safe, however, we can easily say that years ago it was much less of a worry. I used to bot 72 hours on dungeoneering on my main years ago. The funny part is that I was eventually banned for RWT yet never flagged for botting at all.

Now of course you actually have to worry a little, but on RS07 if you babysit it while you bot + breaks, there's not a whole lot to be concerned over. I've only been temporarily banned on RS07 once and it was bot busting :o (which could've been prevented had I babysat the bot)

dont bot for massive hours at a time, i never leave one running for more then 8 hours at a time, and even then if im home i usually log it out and in alot, to simulate someone taking a smoke break, or grabbing some food ect... cant be too carefull

they do lmao. through .dat files and through jagex cache.

I've personally experienced a computer flagging. It wasn't till I was informed by a popular gold seller on how to remove these flags that I could finally play the game normally again.
