Whispers from goldsellers?

Featured Replies

It would appear that following the setup of my OSbot and me entering my email into either this website or the bot itself, my email has been linked to gold farming websites. Now, I randomly get whispered in game with websites for gold sellers. I feel like this jeopardizes the security of my account and I'm not certain what's going on.

I doubt it's OSBot, I was getting them long before I signed up here, and the amount hasn't seemed to change.

Just change your private to friends.

Alright, I did swap private chat to friends, however I haven't been playing long and last night was the first night I looked into botting at all. I entered my email into the site and bot last night, and my first message from a gold seller happened today.

Considering I only have one email linked to osbot, and I have other multiple accounts that don't even have emails on them and they're still receiving messages in game from gold farmers, I doubt that you linking your email to a botting website has anything to do with the messages.

EDIT

Whispers from bot sellers get you banned,

I'm just going to leave this here.
btw, this isn't true at all

Perhaps, but you are disregarding your internet search activity and any other bots you attempted to download in the process of finding OSbot. Sooooo, the emails you were receiving beforehand could be coming from some other place you entered your email. What I'm telling you is I found this bot on my iPhone away from home, came home, went only to this site, entered email only on this site, only in OSbot and today I received my first gold seller whisper. I wanted to raise awareness that this site or the bot itself may be leaking account info so that others can be aware of this before they begin botting. Whispers from bot sellers get you banned, you can change chat options to prevent them from reaching you but as a consumer of a product (although a free product currently) I do not appreciate my information being leaked or sold to outside sources. It isn't the biggest deal and I will continue to bot and potentially develop great scripts to add the community of OSbot, I just wanted to raise awareness. All variables on my end are covered, it most definitely came as a result of OSbot or the website. Just saying.

Alright, I suppose it could come as result of me just not having played too long so far. I quit back in 2007 when they implemented Grand Exchange and removed the wilderness, just coming back now for nostalgia but got hooked. xD

It is not related to OSBot... Gold sellers message everyone. When I first logged into RS07 I got a whisper from rswalmart or some seller like that. Don't mind it..

It's not OSBot, if you have your private on, chinese gold farmers will pm you, it's that simple. Kinda annoying, but it happens to everyone, and has nothing to do with OSBot.

yeah it's not osbot just gold farming seeing people and they have a bot that adds and pm people pretty sure

It has happened to me since last last year, its weird how they get to you, but yeah its random, and they auto pm alot of people, so don't worry about it.

@OP I don't have this problem. If it really annoys you, simply switch your private from "On" to "Friends".
