Goal of 30 pullups/pushups

Featured Replies

30 pullups can be achieved in 7 months if you work at it as for pushups you can likely meet that goal in 7 weeks

as for the twig legs comment i believe he ment that twig legs would make it easier as you would weigh less and could still have upper body to accomplish the task.

but honestly anyone not really overweight could get in shape to do 30pullups in 7months

lol

I think if you want to improve quicker, you should work out normally and try to do 3 sets of as many pull ups as you can every day and you should start improving in no time.

you never work your muscles to the max on a daily basis you work them to the max to break them down then you must let them heal and when they heal they heal back stronger.

Wow...

Okay honestly, you need to start harder than this....

I am not dissing you or this post.

For me, my lifestyle requires high physical readiness and high standards. I do 22 pullups at one time, and 200 pushups in 5 minutes.

Though there are other requirements I must be physically and mentally prepared for, pullups and pushups are main for me.

2 pullups a week is honestly nothing. It will get you absolutely nowhere. Your body can start losing muscle in up to 2 days of inactivity, depending on your metabolism.

I do at LEAST 50 pullups a day to maintain. Just 10 simple pullups at a time every couple of hours.

For real, good luck... But you NEED to increase your standards and grab some sort of motivation out of your ass to hit the gym, otherwise you will have no gains. You will stay skinny (or fat) and constantly ask yourself, "why am I not getting bigger or gaining muscle?"

Keep up the hard work, just make it hard..

Thanks,

Btw I'm not doing 2 a week I'm starting out doing 2 everyday for a week then 3 then 4 for everyday for a week then 5 until I build up to 30 everyday.

Well thats better than 2 a week :p

I read some earlier posts about "Marine Corps approved..." -.-

I am a Marine. 20 years old and in the best shape of my life. Its required of me.

Even though it is not required for you, I admire the desire for self improvement. Just keep it up!

Try doing about 20 bi-daily, even if you do 4 or 5 at a time. You want to give your muscles a break if you actually work them hard.

Keep posting dude, I want to hear about your progress.

Just did day 5 of 3 pull-ups I ca. Easily do more but am like I said building up without injuring myself.

Wtf 30 push-ups is easy AS FUCK.

LOL IKR. If you cant do 30, you need to hit the gym. I can stil do 30 even after an hour of working out on arm day. LAWL

try doing it mostly with 1 hand then tell me how easy it is.

You wont be able to do 30 Pullups with a correct form within 7 Months. You maybe be able to do 30 chinups within this time but never Pullups.

Even if you weight like 40 Kg

check back in 7 months

30 1 hand pushups, completely doable. Im not sure how out of shape most of you guys are but that's not too terrible. It is difficult, but definitely doable. Although 30 1 hand pushups has nothing to do with what anyone was talking about.

the point I was getting at Is i have 1 hand that I cant use very well at a;ll from my wreck so its like I am doing a 1 arm pushup. I had to give up doing the pushups however due to them starting to hurt my wrist that I cant use very well.

Some tips:

1. Proper Hand placement... Find the most comfortable spacing for your hands, and always keep your thumbs on top of the bar.

2. When doing a pushup or pullup work with gravity.. try to relax and let yourself kind of fall instead of slowly 'easing yourself down'

3. When you reach your 'sweet spot' or maximum number of reps, STOP working.. let yourself hang, or put your butt up in the air and take 3 - 4 deep breaths, in through nose out through mouth, bring oxygen to those muscles and do 2 or 3 additional.. then relax like that another 10 seconds/ 3 breaths, then do another 2 - 3.

4. If you wanna increase the ease of taking the test/ speed your progress to your goal, BINGE ON CREATINE AND WATER before you work out. Also you can CAUTIOUSLY and sparingly (1 SMALL energy drink, ie small redbull... the sugars in larger ones aren't healthy with the insulin in creatine supplements) try drinking an energy drink before you do the test in front of your dad... caffieine and taurine etc will help you get a few extra reps in. In fact Taurine is a major ingredient in a lot of whey protein shake kind of workout drinks... muscle milk, walmart 'body fortress' all have a stimulant in them, and professional atheletes are at times drug tested for stimulants like ephedrine and taurine.

5. You don't have to have rest days, but make sure you're doing your exercises in the morning, and that you're consuming ADEQUATE Nutrition before you go to bed! If you don't eat or have a shake or something before you sleep your body will break down muscle mass during the night. 24 hours rest is adequate... 'resting days' can lead to 'resting weeks', so a lower intensity daily routine is imo preferable for most people to the targeted intense regiments used by athletes and bodybuilders.
