Bannedbimbo Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Hi, I have bought OSRS gold through gold selling websites in the past. I'd guess about two years ago. I quit playing but returned recently for the sailing skill. I immediately went and bought another 100Mil to fund my sailing journey. Only to find out not long ago Jagex has reviewed and tightened their policy around RWT. For now nothing happened though and I just hoped for the best and continued playing for the past six weeks without issue. However today I decided to sell 5 bonds, turning over a new leaf and attempting to buy gold the legal way. Except within a few minutes of selling those bonds, I got the 7-day "RWT buyer major" ban. So now I'm unsure whether this ban is targeted to my recent illegal purchase of the 100mil 6 weeks ago. Or if it got accidentaly triggered by selling the bonds this evening, meaning it might be a mistake. Or maybe I was on their radar already because of the illegal purchase and selling the bonds was the final push for their algorithm to ban me. I'm in doubt about whether I should try to appeal this ban by stating I sold bonds the legal way, or if this would just make things worse by putting myself in the spotlight and having Jagex find out about my actual illegal purchases in the past.. Also. IF this is a mistake because of selling the bonds. I need to know if I'm safe selling bonds in the future after my 7-day ban resolves. I have 400 hours in this account. What do you think I should do.
Joubot Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Like, you sold bonds on the GE? That shouldn't have triggered anything. But I've heard of people getting banned for RWT months after the fact or even after splitting big drops from Raids. No one REALLY knows how the system works aside from Jagex themselves, but I'd assume if they caught you doing it once then you'd be on their radar and it might take less to get banned than an average account that has no flags. But even that is just me assuming.
takeovertheworld Posted January 12 Posted January 12 (edited) Seller's account was probably already flagged for RWT. You trading their account flagged you as a RWT buyer. I had one of my accounts 2 day banned for buying 60m. It also took a few weeks before I recived the ban but I know for sure it was the 60m bought. Edited January 12 by takeovertheworld
