I'm thinking of upgrading one of my older pcs with a new GPU. What do you guys think is better/will perform better?

The difference between them is a few MHz and the eVGA card will certainly run at the same speeds as the MSI. there are very little difference at all. Personally, of the two, I'd buy eVGA rather than MSI.

MSI is SLI compatible so if your looking to drop another badboy in the build in the future get that one but i'd personally go with the EVGA im a fan and it has 4 gigs of memory which is crazy cuz u wont need that lol at least not anytime soon unless theres a game out there that i have not heard of and i have a EVGA GTX 560 SLI ready and i love it i havent had the chance to push it cuz i only play rs and leagues but i will pair it with the exact one. They are both amazing but remember it depends what you want them for too.

 I have a AMD gpu atm I dislike them :c

Uh, they have different GPU's. The 7xx series is more of a re-done sort of deal.

680 preforms better than the 760 anyhow.

I have two of them.

If he is looking for a gaming card he should get Nvidia. If he's working with workstation software, then get the 7970

You'll want to go with the GTX 680 for sure. 

680 for sure. It's not even a question.

the 680 will be more powerful. the new 770 is the equivalent to a 680, except with newer ram and a new pcb. I'd advise you to actually get a 770 instead of a 680 if you can find it for cheaper, because it will probably run cooler and the ram will be speedy.

If you're interested in AMD cards the equivalent to the 680 is the 7970. it's arguable that the 7970 will overclock more(silicon lottery plays a part in this), giving you slightly better performance over an overclocked 680. but stock for stock there's really no difference between them.

The stupidity of people boggles my mind.

I'm pretty sure AMD is realesing their next series of gfx cards so I'd wait until those. Even if you don't want the new AMD series, the prices of all the other graphics cards (NVidia & AMD) will go down. 

I'm surprised nobody has talked on the subject of the CUDA cores each one has. The more recent Graphics Cards are somewhat swaying away from more cores and adding more RAM to be able to process more, but slower, graphical actions at once. The cores on the MSI gtx 680 surpasses the 760 by 384 cores. In my opinion the MSI 680 would be slightly better at graphics rendering as long as you're rendering just one game. Plus, if you could find a TI version of the 680 at 3gb of ddr5 then it would be well worth the purchase over the 760. Just think of the CUDA cores as how fast it sends the pixels to the CPU to process and send back to the card. Which is why its MUCH more beneficial to have good CPU and GPU. Have one good and one bad just wont cut it.
