OSbot's Stability

Featured Replies

Firstly, I am aware that osbot 2 is supposed to use less CPU (I haven't heard any info about the multiple tabs issue *cough* stability + more ram being used over time *cough stability*) but that doesn't matter in in relation to the stability of the client; it's just a statement saying that the initial value of CPU the bot uses will use will be lower than currently (Zack said 80% of CPU usage is Rs but it seems that value goes up over time so the value of cpu that the bot itself uses goes higher [time scale = hours] so lowering the initial value of CPU that osbot uses isn't actually as big of a deal as it seems).

Reliability and efficiency are two different things (osbot 2 sounds like it will be more efficient but so far I have heard of no reliability improvements which are much more important at this stage); programming involves a hell of a lot of iteration which doesn't seem to have been carried out on later dates.

After a bit of testing (that I spent not very much time on I can confirm what I'm claiming and I advice you to check for yourself (http://prntscr.com/1tf3f0 [the last number is the average, sorry I didn't notice I cut it off in the screenie] - cba to explain my testing methodology + it's 2 accounts per client {@lowfps} their so it's about  cpuusage/2*0.9 [it seems like 10% more cpu is used when using 2 accounts per client]). You can clearly see the fifth client uses much less than the other clients which were all started at different times (the fifth one was started about 15 minutes before I took the screenie just so I could wait for to stabilize a bit).

P.S I'm still waiting the bot to be fixed in regards to spamming errors when it cannot connect to the osbot server (?).

P.P.S This thread was written badly (me being lazy as usual) and I can't be bothered to fix it up but it portrays the point I'm stating so if someone wants to re-write this (to a better standard) I'll happily update the OP with it.

P.P.P.S I'm still not happy about getting ignored all the time @ admins (exl. Raflesia), it seems you have to make things public to gain any attention around here.

P.P.P.S This was tested using .48

With the higher CPU usage, my laptop gets very hot.
