Jagex can detect 3rd party clients (I think)

Featured Replies

Background:

I have botted on what is now rs 2013 without ever being caught. recently, on the tenth of September, I was caught botting woodcutting at seers village (totally my fault). I had some like 1.5k yews in the bank, so that was probably somewhat suspicious as well. I received a "bot busting moderate" ban for one day. Yesterday, I botted for the first time, spending about 4ish hours botting rock crabs while babysitting.

Evidence:

Today, I manually logged on with the osbot client and found myself standing where I had left off, but then I was instantly banned and booted off the server. It told me to check my message center and I did.

As you can see I was banned for two macroing major offences. Any explainations? Aslo, any suggestions for an appeal?

BAN HAMMER.tiff

on RS3 the client is seriously easy to detect, in 07 not so much tongue.png

I think you just got banned for botting, no  the client :P

If Jagex could detect 3rd party clients then people would just be banned upon login whenever using a bot.

I don't see how you came to this conclusion, you botted, you got some manual bot busting bans, you got some normal bans, and now you're perm banned, it all looks standard to me.

It's quite common to get banned while logged in too, there are some videos of it on youtube, you get a connection lost, force logged out, and banned, it's all normal.

Also in the last week or so Jagex has been cracking down hard on banning macroers for any/every bot.

I'd be more careful when making such broad claims/thread titles as to not scare the community.

Why did they wait to ban me until I logged in? Why does it list two macroing majors?

Also, that title was more of a hook than an assurance... is there any way to change it?

its almost guarnteed they can hell a j mod livestreamed himself killing  bots like no tommorow

You probably were already banned but it didn't register through the system until you logged in.

Umm I pretty sure Jagex is not allowed to ban you for logging in using a bot client.

Macroing and playing in a bot client are different things.

Just to be clear, I dont think Jagex banned me for logging in with osbot anymore, but the official rules say Macroing and third-party software are against the rules. So technically, playing legit in a bot client is against the rules, though I doubt they would ban for that assuming that they couldn't detect the bot client.

Not necessarily. There are now clients that have bot-like hooks but are considered legitimate extensions of the game. Anyway, Jagex does not necessarily ban you right away when they catch you botting. Sometimes they monitor your account (see if you're trading large sums of gold to other accs, etc) before they decide to ban you. If you were being monitored, maybe they decided to just give you the banhammer after your bot-bust moderate (seeing as they were already watching you).

It's all speculation though, nobody can tell you for suresies.

LOL. Same shit happened to me today. Log in, disconnect. GG banned. Then do it on 2 other accounts, same thing.

Thanks for the help... I looked at some anti-perm ban guide and Im seeing what I can do. This was my main created probably sometime around 2004. I was aware of the risks and I really just needed a reason to quit rs (as a senior in high school, I gotta sometime).

@LithiumVolt

I am aware of third-party clients that are considered legit because they have no macros nor full automation, but they are still against jagex's rules. Probably people wont get in trouble for using them, but that doesn't change the fact that jagex doesnt allow third-party programs.
