The meaning of life

Featured Replies

I like the discussion, but the video not so much. To me, it came off as just advertising a religion.

I believe the meaning of life is to coexist and love everyone. There is no need for any conflicts in life.

I'm extremely against capitalism, not to the point of a rebel though. I just don't like the fact that it's either slave labor or starvation.

I believe in reincarnation, which basically justifies my aforementioned statements.

It was a good song and decent video, I got alot from it but at the same time like Sherlock said, I feel as if it's just trying to get me to believe in what he believes, and advertise the religeon. It makes you think alot about life, but I have always wondered what the real purpose of my life is, sometimes I feel so insignificant but as long as I'm happy that's really all I care about...

I don't believe in any God atm. This is the closest, hah.

edit----mainly cause the fact almost everything in life is a lie.. everything weve been told is a lie. we dont even know if half the things that we see on tv or hear over the internet is real. we only know what we see with our own two eyes. not by reading or hearing or seeing. i dont think our world had people thousands upon thousands of years ago i believe everything happened yeah but not in the prolonged period of time. otherwise how the fuck did we get so smart recently all of a sudden we have mad geniuses and world disorders from how powerful we are now in technology whatever the hell u want. its all progressed quick and we have stuff lined up for the next 20 years. all these world catastophes are planned. talked about years upon years before. dont believe me. dont hate on me, but do ur research, do ur science work, see for yourself there are even cures for cancer.

I’d Rather Rule in Hell than Serve in Heaven

2

"I was thinking this morning about the most important things in life. What are they? We have so little time to become wise, to know by the end, what is valuable and what is not. Being financially successful is of great importance on our world, but if we’ve taken something that isn’t ours, or hurt or used other people along the way, our success will be seen differently on the other side.

In a contemplative mood, we may be shown a parade of the people we have hurt, but if this doesn’t happen while we are still active, we see them before we draw our last breath. Is seeing what we’ve done important? Yes; the turning points of our lives, whether “good” or “bad,” are seared into our souls. We don’t forget then, and when we are born the next time, we do better. The purpose of our lives is to connect with each other and beyond, to help each other from our shining souls, which are seeds of Love given us from the Great Loving Being at the center of the universe.

Love is important: love of life, love of family and friends—but what is love? Does love transcend our personal lives? Love made the universe and Love made us. Why? And if Love made everything, why is there so much darkness in our world? I think of us Earthlings as those who rejected Love in some way, the souls who chose, “My Way,” over the “Way of Love.” We are strong in our nature of wanting to be the boss: “I’d rather rule in Hell than serve in Heaven,” or “I’d rather be a hammer than a nail.” Is being the boss why we’re here, though? Being responsible for ourselves is half the reason. The other half is to un-reject Love, to choose the way Home, the place of joy, of being Light, and of oneness with All That Is."

found it randomly when i was tripping thought it was nice at the time , not so much now but yeah tongue.png

If your into discussions about this subject try listening to some speeches of Terence Mckenna. He'll convince you in every lecture that religion is merely a cultural belief system and nothing more then a story kept alive by people who don't have the guts to really think about what life came from.

People who dedicate their lives to finding out where we as a specie really come from see religion as a joke. Humanism is hundreds of thousand of years old. Humans as we are today are only able to communicate through speech for 35000 years. How old is your Islamic religion? The times alone do not match.

But not to criticize other people's believes. I believe everyone should believe in whatever they are comfortable with. "to each his own" But still. If your seriously up for a debate about the origin of life; be rational.
