Do i have to do the whole Fairytale I - Growing Pains quest in order for the Magic secateurs to work? 

You get them before the boss fight so i wonder if they already work for farming. Would be nice if somebody has any insights in this

Yes, they work without beating the boss. If you lose them somehow though you will then need to bring the items to the Nature Spirit once again to remake them. That being said, once you get them them the quest is pretty much over besides the boss fight which can be flinched easily, so is there a reason you don't want to finish the quest?

ty thats what i was thinking too.

Its a huge timesave if you dont need to finish the quest on 10+ accounts since stealth quester does not support it.  And im lazy...
