The Current State of OSBot

Featured Replies

What do you guys think about the current state of OSBot?

I, for one, am extremely disappointed. It seems to me like the admins have just completed given up on the site. Maxi hasn't been active in a month now, scripts aren't being pushed into the SDN (unless they think it will make them a quick buck it seems like, because somehow GMC Superscript got through but other scripts like exachinner have been thoroughly ignored from what I've been seeing - correct me if I'm wrong), and the admins are providing us with little to no information about the progress with OSBot 2, or anything else related to the future of the bot.

Do you guys think OSBot is dying? Do you think OSBot is just severely understaffed, or do you think that the admins are legitimately just too busy working on OSBot 2 to bother supporting their (paying) members?

Personally, I absolutely refuse to purchase anything related to OSBot until the admins get their head in the game. When it comes down to it, OSBot is a business, and right now their customer support makes Comcast look good lol.

What are your guys' thoughts?

I have been somewhat disappointed in the growth of OSBot. A couple of months ago, it was always constantly growing, which I really liked. Now it just seems like they are struggling to play catch up. That is just what I think. I really hope they are working on OSB2.

Yeah, what gets me is the "I really hope they are working on OSB2."

For a long time I justified the inactiveness of the admins by saying "Oh, well, hey, they're working on OSBot 2! We just need to be patient, they're gunna release something really phenomenal for us." But now I don't know if I believe it whole-heartedly. We haven't been showed or even told ANYTHING about the progress of their "biggest project/update in the history of OSBot." To me, that's just suspicious - as a business, they should be ITCHING to share information on their progress, because it improves customer-seller relations and improves confidence in their project. It would encourage people to buy their shit to support them. I just don't get it.

And the main admin being inactive for a month, without any reason why given to the public, is just downright unacceptable. There's absolutely no excuse for that.

I think the OSBot developers are just going through a rough patch. Their inactivity on the Forums proves so, however OSBot 2 will be well worth the wait.

I wouldn't worry about OSBot "dieing" or "failing" anytime soon, because that's highly unlikely.

The issues that you posed in your post are not being taken lightly, and have been brought up to the developers. They are being worked out, and efficiency of the Forum overall will be improved soon.

That's what I'm hoping. In the past, OSBot has always been very professional. What irks me about these issues isn't even necessarily the issues themselves, it's the lack of communication. How hard would it be for an admin to take 5 minutes to post "Look, we're sorry about the issues lately. Maxi has had real life issues to attend to and won't be back for X amount of weeks. We're working on OSB2 though, and here's the progress so far: asdfadf. Thanks for your patience, we'll make it up to you guys!" or something.

I mean... c'mon. Elementary, Watson.

I've really enjoyed my time at OSbot so far, i hope it doesn't die.

This is a really good site, it would be a shame to see it go downhill.
