(LINUX) App closes after login and nothing appears?

I'm using Ubuntu 20.04, I've followed Protoprize's  tutorial and I'm getting to the login screen (for OSBOT), hitting login then nothing appears? 

 

I'm on Java version 1.8.0 (OpenJDK)

 

Any help would be appreciated

You sure you got your path set to the right java version?

Run in terminal: 

sudo update-alternatives --config java

And choose the version that mentions 1.8 and  hotspot

Sadly I've just wiped it off my machine and downgraded my OS to 16 I think.. I might retry in the future :)
