OSBot consumes too much memory

Featured Replies

Every time I open new bot it consumes 200MB of RAM more. When I close bot it doesn't release any memory?

OSBot version 2.5.7.
Way to reproduce problem:

1. Open OSBot
2. Start new bot #1
3. Start new bot #2
4. Close bot #1
5. Start new bot #1
6. Repeat 4 and 5

Since you gave me the ??? emote, the link I shared with you describes garbage collection in Java. Garbage collection is what destroys unused objects from memory (decreases RAM). So whatever old references existed after you closed Bot #1 (Step 4), would be deallocated by Java - not by us. In other languages which doesnt have this type of memory management (such as C/C++), we would have to manage the memory manually.

There are sometimes errors in code which could sometimes lead to memory staying persistent (not being collected), but its really hard to do because Java does a really great job.

Hopefully this explains it better.
