RDM Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 I plan to buy my first electric guitar this coming Friday and I've been doing a bunch of research to make sure I get what I want and just to become more knowledgeable before hand so I dont get hassled at the shop. So far Iv'e seen lots of guitars around the $200 (canadian) range but have also done research about cheap guitars being cheap (mostly aesthetically but partly acoustically as well) so I was thinking around the $350 range for a stratocaster. I don't plan to / can't play loudly since I live in an apartment so I just plan to get a cheaper amp with a headphone jack and play it that way 99% of the time. Thoughts?
Sociopath Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 Get a fender strat squier or any cheap used guitar from a good store, the pawn shops often do package deals so you get an amp and cables and guitar for a set price.
Darren Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 Strats and telecasters are boring. Go for a basic Epiphone Les Paul, you can purchase starter packs with the guitar including amp, plectrums, tuner etc.
