It takes awhile, but prevents people from creating new accounts and scamming.

Well it does prevent. You go on sythe and just take a look at how many noobs with 2-3 posts go on there to sell accounts. I'd say we get a lot less of those on here.

I'm not disagreeing with it. It is a barrier to entry for sure.
