Why Scripting and not Coding

Featured Replies

Hello everyone let me take a moment to introduce myself, my real name is Flavius and I am part of RSPS Communities, I have a question why do you guys call making bots Scripting rather than Coding, in my opinion Coding sounds more professional :P

I personally use the word scripting because that was what everyone else called it, so it would make no sense to call it coding and confuse the shit out of everyone.

My guess would be because each script extends the class Script. Just a wild guess. Also, scripting makes more sense because coding could be relative to the client or script. No really sure.

Welcome.

The way you should think about it is like this: coding is a catch all for any type of computer language writing. Scripting is a specific type of coding. There are other types too, like markup. But no matter what, if you are writing stuff for a computer to understand you better believe that you are coding!

Because you're making a script, so the action is considered "scripting", would be my guess.

Yes but you are creating new classes and using JAVA, thus being close to Coding or Programming

you are writing a script for the bot to run, coding is the injected part

you are writing a script for the bot to run, coding is the injected part

You have no idea what you're talking about
