Web Walking Gate/Door issue(s)

Featured Replies

1. OSBot Version (do NOT put "current version", be specific): 2.4.127

2. A description of the issue. Include relevant logs.: When web walking from the fishing place on Tutorial Island to the inside of the cook's house on Tutorial Island the web walker often gets stuck. It can get stuck in 3 places. The first place it can get stuck is the gate. It will sometimes go back and forth through it (I've seen it go through the gate 7 times before instead of just one) or just get stuck there for like 10 seconds before going through it. The second place it can get stuck at is the door. It has the same issues as the gate; I'm assuming both are handled by the same code. The final place is in the field in between them. Sometimes it just gets stuck for like 10 seconds before moving on. The web walker seems to work fine in most other places though. Perhaps the close proximity of the gate and the door is giving it issues and making an improper path sometimes. If you want to test it with my exact code, I'm currently using "getWalking().webWalk(new Position(3075, 3084, 0));".

3. Are you receiving any errors in the client canvas or the logger?: Nope.

4. How can you replicate the issue?: Try web walking from the fishing place on Tutorial Island to the inside of the cook's house on Tutorial Island a few times.

5. Has this issue persisted through multiple versions? If so, how far back?: I've only used 2.4.127, so not sure.

I'm not really sure why you would use web walking on tutorial island, you can navigate on the island with the regular walker. I don't think there is really any place on tutorial island which is a very far walk, except for perhaps the church.

Tutorial Island is also a great place for Jagex to mess with bots. Are you using web walker simply to not have to handle obstacles?

I am; I was told that regular walking doesn't handle gates/doors and to use the web walker for any paths that include them.

What do you mean by that? Are you trying to say Jagex is changing the objects to mess up the web walking or something?

Regular walking doesn't handle obstacles, but using web walking simply to handle obstacles is a very poor design choice. Whoever gave you that advice, shame on them. I would highly recommend using regular walking and handling your own interactions for the various types of objects you have to interact with on tutorial island. The DoorHandler class may also be a great starting point.
