I believe you need a real credit card. I've tried with prepaids multiple times and have never heard of it working.

 

I didn't open my paypal until I got a Credit Card. But if you really want to, I'd just ask your parents.

 

The reason they want a real card is if you get negative balance, they need a place to get that money

I think you can just got to a CVS or Walgreens and put like $10 on it I think they take a dollar or so.
