I really want to start scripting but it's very confusing to me. I want to make a simple plank runner but I don't know what to do. I've looked at many guides and none seemed to help. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Read the guides over and over and practice. Look at the source of scripts and try to understand everything. Otherwise pay a tutor or find someone willing to dedicate the time to help you.
