Wear the max range bonus you can, so robin, archer ring, stuff like that. If you use a crossbow whilst you cannon at ogres you can get about 40kxp/hr +. Don't think attack style matters.

This is probably an issue you should either PM the script owner about or post on the thread about. It's probably an error with the script and not on your end if I had to guess.
