Did you have any luck? having the same issue with my VPS installing JRE 8. openJDK 8 didn't work.

Hi, I have a VPS setup curently and have no issues with VNC etc, just having issues installing JRE8. Does anyone have a good tutorial to complete this? I can obtain the tar.gz from oracle but doesn't seem to install in Ubuntu 18.. Any help appreciated.
