My one complaint is that the bot spends 90% of the time adjusting the camera instead of firing at the target? Could this be happening because my computer is getting old and I don't have a ton of CPU power?

Ran it for 9 hours overnight. No problems! About 27k xp per hour. Would using a dark bow yield more xp than the magic short?

How do you start it? Do you just have to be in the ranging guild, in your ranger gear with arrows equipped, and a stack of 200k gp?
