  1. Hello everyone, As we are making progress the first functional scripts are starting to get created. Today I wrote a script to cut willows at draynor, banking the logs in the bank and repeat. It's a very simple script, it has no support for bankpins or random events however those functionalities will be added in the coming days. The main thing is that it does its core job of cutting wood very accurately, chopping, walking from and to the bank and banking in a very decent manner. Stay tuned! OSBot.org
  2. I guess I will do one of these, The name is Jake, and I have been developing RSPS primarily for the last six or so years and have recently moved onto game development, web design, and scripting which is the reason I am here, and get the chance to let others use my work. I am currently 18 years old and just graduated high school. I am enlisted in the USMC (United States Marine Corps) as active duty infantry and ship out for Paris Island here next year for boot camp. During my time off which will be quite often as my MOS inquires time at camp or base, I will be able to be online. Other than that, I am going to get my bachelors in business and I would like to get a degree in both culinary arts as well as computer science. Eventually hoping to start up a restaurant of my own. (: Anyways, I plan to be somewhat of a contributor to this site, and cannot wait for the botting 'sensation' to officially begin! Hoping to see everyone around, stay classy OSBot. ;)
  3. Thesis Statement: In this suggestion I will go over a few things that would prove to be positive for our community if the site became a private - invite ONLY site. I will touch base with what I have seen done on other sites as well as why I feel that it would help strengthen us as a community. Community: This is the key to success on any forum that you visit. We drive the forum and possess the power to encourage a great foundation and site. With out 'its' community, no forum would grow, let alone survive; so it is us who ultimately decide the fate of this site, and it is us who choose how we want things done (to a certain extent). Power: The one thing that is held dear by our sites creators and those who decide what is ultimately implemented into the site. This goes hand in hand with leadership. Leadership: This is displayed by many, but is truly owned by few. Very few people know how to lead, not because they aren't bad, but because its a tough gig, and someone has to do it. For better or for worse a Leader is only as good as his community see him, and with out a fair community a leader is often despised and or thrown over. (; It is my true believe that in order for use as a community to grow and prosper, we need to not only recruit high officials from other sites, but simply the best of the best. We need dedicated advocating people, who want this site, and this site alone to be the best 07Bot there is. I know that I don't speak for myself, when I say downtime is a bummer, and lack of scripts is even worse, this is why I have chosen to propose this idea. I have seen many sites come and go, and not only botting sites. I've seen sites that have been "Invite only (private)" sites and I have been invited to some. Most of the sites that I speak of are Torrent sites, but these forums have some of the best and strongest communities out there. The often carry the newest and best programs out there, but the catch is, you must be invited and if you haven't been you are not even allowed to view the content, let alone download it. The reason why I feel that this would be a positive step forward is because it would limit the amount of members, as well as the amount of gold farming. If we where able to recruit members who could develop top notch scripts (premium quality) we could charge lower fees on scripts, as well as help keep out rift-raft (eg. kids with 1 post who go around scamming/spamming up the forums). It not only would prevent these often annoying acts, but would also create a better and safer environment which would ultimately strengthen our community. This is my vision, take it as you will...But don't be too quick to judge, simply offer an opinion as well as a better suggestion and I will either agree and/or counter it. But essentially this is how I feel this should be handled (if it is even considered). OSBot stays open and public for a month or so, it builds its trust as well as its credibility with the RS botting community and proves to be a awesome bot. With steady updates and more traffic rolling in, the forum mods and staff then look towards my suggestion. If the site and client is proven to be better than most, have a test run with invite only. Simply see how much less spam is created as well how much better of a community we may become. Essentially the only way to both download the client and run its scripts, is if someone who was already a member, and has been a member for X amount of time (1-2months) invites you via email. If you are invited you then are limited as to how many scripts you may use at one time (lets say 1 bot for new members), those who have been here for 4-8 months are allowed to use 2 bots, and those who have been here for more than a year are allotted 3-4 bots. This would not only benefit those who are veterans, but also cut back on those who choose to gold farm. Trust me I have nothing against gold farming for your enjoyment of the game, it is those who run hundreds of bots on VPS in order to sell gold at the lowest possible rate and crash the economy who I am worried about. Any ways, there are many positives that could come from this, for instance releasing of site specific scripts (first slayer script), and any other ideas that may come to mind. Forgive me if this seems like I'm rambling...(I am its 5am)...But I will critique this tomorrow and make it easier to understand with better points/suggestions/reasoning. Thanks for reading - Highball

Hello everyone, This is going to be a quick read for all of you wondering at what development stage OSBot is currently. Let's cut the crap and get right to the chase: We have 95% of our hooks finished and this is not our focus anymore. We have begun with the scripting engine and api, and needed hooks we miss or that we want to have as a nice feature for the scripting api are hooked on the fly. Currently, the most important part of our scripting api remains the management of input, like the mouse and the keyboard. We are spending some time on this because in the modern days of botting this is one of the most important components to keep you from getting banned. We will keep you updated. OSBot.org

I am scheduling our release for April 1st, and no, it will not be an April fools joke. Although our bot will not have all its features completed, it will allow our community to grow, our collection of scripts to grow, and for our script developers to get accustomed to the bot's scripting API. For script developers, we only be supporting Groovy for the scripting language. It is very similar to Java but simpler. We WILL be supporting Java in the future however! So if you feel you don't like Groovy, no worries. We also have plans to implement JRuby. The VIP script store will NOT be open by then. We do not have enough time to set it up for the release date. VIP scripts will be developed by trusted, and qualifying script developers. More info on this later. The script repository will most-likely not be open on April 1st but we'll be adding it within a week or two after release. The only random event solver in the bot on release date will be the login script. We will be adding more random event solvers within time. The RSBot script emulator will also not be ready by April 1st. Please keep in mind that even though all these features won't be available on April 1st, they will be added quickly. The reason we are better than our competitors is because we actually take the time to do things correctly. Thank you! Sincerely, Laz and the OSBot Team.
  6. Hey guys, I am pretty used to setting up IPB forums. But I think you guys should get a few hooks and applications set up. I also think that you should change the way the admins and moderators names look on the forums, just to stick out. Another thing is to add rules to the marketplace, you don't want people getting scammed then not know what you want as proof and so on. Maybe add some new themes? I like a forum that has different options so I don't look at the same thing over and over. Implement logging in with twitter, facebook, and google? Just adds a faster way for people to log in. When you click the logo, it says that the page is not found. Just adjust it to send you to the forum home page. Last suggestion, make a interactive home page that you can either, download the bot, go to the repository, or head to the forums.

    I will add you mate
  8. Glad you decided to, lol these are simple little things and often help us see who you are =D
  9. 10/10 for being a gray mouse!

The difficulty in the situation is Jagex contacting us. They would have to work wonders, filing many subpoenas to figure out who is actually in fault of copyright infringement. A DMCA will do nothing to us. Anyway, we will be changing our legal addresses on the website soon.
  11. 10/10. Avatar has blue eyes.
  12. I believe it uses Groovy.
  13. Could be that the hosting service IP banned you. You won't have to worry about it as we're buying a new host any time soon.
  14. I don't know if I necessarily agree, but these things aren't up to me. I can see what you are saying, and I can see how it would work, but I am a realist and like to look at both sides before choosing. With this option in place, we will see less members. And to be honest, less members means less reward for the scriptors and developers of the site. I know most people are not in it for the reward, but they still deserve some. My counter suggestion- Keep scripts open/buyable to the public. But add a special rank to which the Admins add you to it. This rank is no ordinary rank, it's one that shows you are loyal, and have stuck with the site through everything. This section gets access to special scripts that you would normally have to buy. But they get it at a very low/cut rate. This could be a way for the creators to say thanks to specific members for sticking with them. My idea would assume that we have 1,000+ active members with a very active community. I thank you highball for your suggestion to the community.
  15. Hello everyone, Today and yesterday we have been working on a couple of things. First of all, we have improved the bot its overal mechanisms we already implemented. Furthermore we have added a walking algorithm including pathfinding, which allows you to simply say: walkTo(x, y) Hooray! Today we are working on redesigning some of the ways input is handled and the overal design of the script / bot threads. Instead of one single thread, an event driven threading design has been introduced, to allow things to run more concurrently especially in the case of client callbacks. This isn't needed for most things, but in a few occasions this is very handy when developing scripts, such as walking and moving the camera at the same time. We are also implementing a function today that turns the camera into the direction of a certain object. If we finish all things I'm talking about above, we can run a basic but complete woodcutting bot by tonight, which would only require babysitting in the case of random events which then of course can be written as they are encountered. We're getting close! OSBot.org
  16. Very Nice! looking forward to this =D

    I'm wondering the same thing.
  18. Nice to meet you. All of the males in my family for the past years have been in the Army. I'm still debating on whether or not I'm going to be a Marine or just go to the Army. Hard decision. This is all after I finish High School of course. EDIT: Glad you're going active and not chilling. ;)
  19. Nice to have you!
  20. I see what you did there.. Well glad to meet you Jake. I appreciate your service to our country! My dad was in the Air Force for 25 years. So the life of military is pretty common to me. Anyways good luck with your scripts!
  21. If there are multiple objects location can be given as a parameters. Right now when I want to chop down a specific Oak Tree I do this, it will walk you to the object if the object isn't within a clickable range: selectEntityOption(object, "Chop down", "Oak Tree") In that code it's up to you to decide how you get your object. You could choose for the closest object like: def object = closestObject(id) But we will have support for objects at specific locations, and it will be very easy to find the locations of the object because the bot client has options to enable and disable information like location etc drawn on top of for example objects.
  22. For the walking queue are you going to have object hooks? IE: Click open gate, open door, etc, or are we going to have to use walkTo(x, y) to the location nearest the object, perform an object action, then continue the walking queue?
  23. This is what im looking forward to the most:
