Java crashes, then very low fps after recovery

Is someone else running into this problem? Sometimes the client freezes completely for several minutes and when it recovers it starts jerking often while being more prone to freezing.

This occurs while using low cpu mode.

 

EDIT: I think the jerking is called "packet loss".
