OP I'd go for addy gloves. Just order the quests from someone

What good is slayer helm?

 

nature spirit is required for addy gloves and it gives you 3000 def xp which brings you to 13 defense. the slayer helm has stats like a rune full. if you get 70 range you won't get any combat levels and you can wear black dhide bottoms. the addy gloves are less risk and take less than an hour to do. you can also get a black defender if you wish. 13 defense pures win about 50% of the time and no matter how many defensive bonuses you get, you'll still get hit very hard. i recommend a zerker or void pure. unless you already have those made.
