Setting up a desktop on CentOS

Featured Replies

Hi all, recently my VPS got cleaned and I lost all data (including installed packages).

I installed a desktop environment for me to run bots, however the pastebin link I used at the time is down, and I am not getting response from the person I originally got it from.

I am running CentOS 5.8 i686

If anyone could please help me out that would be great. I have been trying for hours on and can't get the damn thing to work!

What version of Ubuntu are you using? tongue.png

I already have the VPS, can't really change that. However I am also setting up a virtualbox so in there I can pick whatever I want.

Tyvm. Had to do a clean install and now finally got it to work.

I'd choose Debian over Ubuntu any day IMHO.

Also, couldn't you just install a DE with the package manager that comes with CentOS?

Also, if I where you I wouldn't use a VM as that would decrease performance.
