The current method does not take into consideration blockers. Please add alternative methods that calculate distance by actual walking distance and not by shortest line. This method would come in handy where there are aggressive NPCs. It would prevent my character from being sidetracked by a NPC nearer-by-path-size than the NPC that was originally targeted,

 

It's additional processing power, but also necessary.

It's not hard to do it yourself and it's also already available in the current api.
