The anime is behind by a lot, so it would be a while. If the anime ends, doesn't mean the manga won't go on. That is what happened to bleacher, the anime ended and the last season of bleach was never aired.

The way I see them ending it is Naruto and Sasuke still trying to fight for Hokage/protect the village. They won't just be like Naruto is the new Hokage or will they?...

 

I don't read the manga either. I watch the anime and I am quite excited :)
