A few questions

Featured Replies

First, I'm planning on getting back to WoW as i haven't played in a few years.

Will this run WoW on Ultra with good fps in all areas?

I hear running WoW is also not possible without overclocking...

Well, I have no idea how to overclock. Any insight on that?

This is the link to the computer I'm looking at.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883258029

I'll be running it on dual ASUS monitors.

WoW optimized on one screen and the other for a work station/engine.

Any buddy, feel free to tell me what is wrong and right.

Also, I have limited knowledge of PCs. Just afraid of building one myself.

I know this computer is pricy, But for a prebuilt, Is it decent?

Few other notes- I will want to play WoW and some other games like Skyrim, and FPS games.

WoW is the only one that needs to be played In ultra but i also want the other games to look great too!

Money is not an object.

Am i correct in assuming that this pc here is only differing in the Video Card/SSD/PSU? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883258024

You don't need to overclock but I recommend an Intel processor if you're willing to pay that much.

Wow will run perfectly on ultra with quite a bit less than that. If nobody suggests anything by when I get home tomorrow I'll get you a couple options.

I'm not really to worried about overpaying.

Also, I would like to keep in mind I don't want to have to upgrade the PC too much hopefully over the next year or two.

So overpaying, as long as the quality is there, doesn't matter to me.

I would love to see some other builds though, I'm open to suggestions.

Don't buy that piece of shit

You can build a 1000x better PC.

You can find much better and cheaper PC's for a better price. If you're looking for design, I'd highly recommend to look here http://www.digitalstormonline.com/ - they make some KILLER looking PC's but are over priced. If you're looking for a budget PC then let me know. The reason the price is so high is because most PCs if not all come with a 4-year warranty and very good support I've heard from friends. They also give you really good future deals I have also heard.

This is irrelevant and doesn't help me at all.

They look pretty nice. For a prebuilt from their site what is the best that you could reccomend for me for the things I would be doing.

I think it looks like a pretty good computer and will run WoW fine.

Thats what i was under the impression of as well.

All ill be doing is playing wow on mostly max settings.

If i have warranty what is there to worry about?

I dont mind upgrading or even replacing the system within the next 2-3 years either.

So for a prebuilt, it seems like a good choice.

Well what is the price range you're shooting for?

  • Author

Lol yes that computer will be able to play WoW

No offence, But you and everyone else who have posted short ended responses like this are kind of annoying; They don't really contribute all that much to my questions.

A little more details would be nice.

Will I be able to run on ultra while raiding with little to no fps drops?

Would I be able to record videos for PvP with little to no fps drops and still in decent quality?

Things like these are what I would like to know.

I know there are quite a few WoW players as well as tech guys around. So please, leave the limited responses to yourself if you're not contributing anything to the thread.

Well what is the price range you're shooting for?

As to this, its not really a big deal. I am planning on running this Setup:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883258029

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313 X2 for dual setup.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=36-121-048&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=2#scrollFullInfoA cheap speaker system

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823114016

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=26-153-064&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=2#scrollFullInfoAnd of course the Razer Anansi paired with a Naga Molten. NO RAZER FANBOY COMMENTS.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826999088 And the anansi/naga will be sittin upon this epic bad boy.

Kind of wanted an Orbweaver as well for the left side, But with an anansi in the picture, i'm not sure its needed. I'll be using the thumb modifier keys for Shift/Alt/Control, They work as modifiers and can be used with the nagas twelve buttons, All together equaling 48 keybinds, Which should be more than enough for all my classes.

I have not decided on a desk I really enjoy yet. But it needs to be large.

I also have not decided on a chair.

Any suggestion on those is greatly appreciated.

I also haven't decided on a headset, I was looking at Razer, But i'm just not sure yet. I have a logitech i still use and I hate it. Hurts the lobes!

Either way, I haven't played WoW in a year or two but used to be a hardcore raider/pvper thats why the setup is so extensive.

Also why price is not really an object as I have been saving for years.

All i do is play RS which in my opinion is just going downhill, So fast.

That being said, I'd love to be able to play WoW casually and hardcore like I used to. As well as play the occasional RTS/FPS/RPG on the side with decent settings as well.

I'm pretty sure anything with 2gb available RAM, a decent graphics card (if nvidia, a simple 560 or 650 1gb will do fine..), and a good GHz quad-core will run wow on ultra. The first PC you listed in the first post is over-doing it. However, I would not waste my time purchasing 16GB of 1333MHz DDR3 RAM. You will notice that your computer runs much faster on higher MHz. It is definitely worth upgrading the RAM speed.

Please do not but the PC, I can't let you just go ahead and get scammed easily, that PC is not worth the price tag, your CPU is absolute shit for that price.

Yes get this one if you're looking for a prebuilt. Looking around there are some around that price with better processors but graphics no. I would get this as you still have PLENTY of processor speed and will also be able to handle WoW on Ultra. Also it has liquid cooling so you don't have to worry about it overheating when playing intense wow on Ultra! My friends laptop can run WoW on ultra and it's 2 years old. It's laggy on ultra so he doesn't but any desktop with even a halfway decent graphics can run Ultra smoothly. Yours is a for sure. Buy it :D Unless you want to build your own. Then you can spend this and get a desktop you won't have to actually start upgrading stuff on for 5 years min.

I know its a little overkill, I also just don't want to have to upgrade next year, the year after, etc.

With the ram speed, isnt that a good thing?

With faster read speeds isnt that a good thing?

Like I said, I'm not super tech with computers, But I know a little.

These responses are much closer to what i was looking for, Honestly.

Thats all I needed to know, thank you.

I thought about building my own,

But no one gives me a COMPLETE part list and good tuts

I've watched neweggs How to build a computer tut and it was pretty good, i just felt like i was missing small pieces of information.

Please do not but the PC, I can't let you just go ahead and get scammed easily, that PC is not worth the price tag, your CPU is absolute shit for that price.

If you want to contribute then provide me a whole entire parts list and a good set of tuts for building a pc.

Or a prebuilt, that (in your opinion) is worth it.

Otherwise, I already heard what you said earlier in the thread.
