Caesar
Not sure if this is in the wrong section or not. Anyway, so i just restarted my modem to utilize the dynamic IP. However the first 6 digits remain the same, is this because it doesn't change your submask gateway or whatever it's called? Or do all users of the internet provider share the first 6 digits? Just wanted to clear this up
Arctic
I believe it's because when you reset it's still within the same subnetwork, so you get a new IP within the same range.
Theodore Bagwell
Does the IP adress begin with 192.168.x.x? If so, it doesn't work, as your dynamic IP adress will be changed everytime you connect/reconnect to your modem. You have to contact your service provider to change the real IP adress of your router.
