Client-side bot detection?

Featured Replies

I moved my scripts to OSBot2 and it seems like devs added camera rotation & mouse movement antibans.

Questions:

1) Does this means that Runescape Client sends click data to server? Or have client-side detection?

2) Does Runescape Client send hardware id data to server? (mac, volume serial,...)

3) Does Runescape Client send some installation-specific data? (installation id, some generated key)

4) What does random.dat used for by client? And what does OSBot spoof there?

5) Can Jagex detect that I run 2+ bots from single OS and link them? Does OSBot protect from this?

6) Is it safe to use the same cache of game data for 2+ instances of client?

Need some qualified ppl to answer those technical questions.

Thanks.

1) Nobody knows; it's safer to assume yes than no, and thus bot clients often implement anti-ban against this

2) see #1; this is why some people prefer to use VPNs

3) see #1

4) From what I read across a quick google search, random.dat has to do with tracking what accounts you've signed onto on your system, again why VPNs are a thing

5) Because Jagex can detect multilogging by IP (hence why it used to be a bannable offense; if they couldn't tell it wouldn't be bannable), most botters believe it's possible to have your account chain banned when running on the same machine. Solutions to this are: VPN, different proxies per instance of Osbot, (perhaps) virtual machines

6) Is it ever safe to bot?

Basically, botting is never 100% banproof, never has been, never will be. You can invest into preventing every possible method of ban-evasion if you want to goldfarm, but you still have a chance of each account being banned for, you know, breaking the rules. The best way to prevent bans is

1) use an old account that hasn't had bans before, has plenty of QP and other activity, well-rounded skills, and don't bother botting the methods that jagex would devote resources to monitoring (fishing, red chins, wc, etc). A dream method is:

1) fairly secluded, to reduce reports

2) not that well known

3) using a private script makes your bot more individual, thus harder to track

4) decent money p/h, so that if/when you do get banned you'll have profited significantly.

Basically, botting is never 100% banproof, never has been, never will be.

Not even 20% banproof at the moment :D
