Someone inform me about OSRS/Bot after 3 months of travelling

So I was a regular OSBOT user, but when I got the opportunity to travel for 3 months I took up that offer. 
Therefore I have no idea what I'm doing any more on this website/OSRS since having no time to check anything related with Runescape.
Is the bot still effective? 
Is it risky to bot now?
Just need to be informed that's all

Botting is hard now. But if you bot smart ( breaks, vary in scripts/spots, etc...) you're good togo

Welcome back. Ban rates are high right now. I suggest not botting for a bit till things hopefully slow down. RS has a few different updates, new clue items etc...
