I've been having some issues that I was wondering if some of you could assist me with.

 

Internet Issues

 

So, ever since I've fixed my computer I've been having a pretty irritating issue. My internet will go out every 45-55 minutes for no reason, even when my house internet is still working. My internet wireless card like resets or crashes or something. The only way I'm able to fix the internet is by restarting the computer or going to:

 

Open Network and Sharing > Change Adapter Settings > Right Clicking: "Wireless Network Connection"

 

and then disabling and enabling it again. My ethernet cable wont work either, when I plug it in it doesn't do anything. The ethernet cable is functioning correctly on other computers, but not on mine.

 

What could this be and how can I fix this?

 

Date&Time Issues

 

Again, since I've fixed my computer my date & time wont keep up with the actual date & time. If I set it to the correct date & time it eventually falls behind and repeats the same hour until I fix it again. For example, as of this post it's June 20th but my computer is showing April 9th. Obviously an issue.

 

I've tried fixing it but nothing has worked. Also, whenever I go to change the date & time internet time settings it says I don't have permission to access it. 

 

What could this be and how can I fix this?

 

Other Information

 

In case you guys are wondering why my computer needed to be fixed, the internal power supply died. I simply bought a new one and replaced it. I didn't touch/add any other component that could conflict with the internet/date&time.

Was there any problems with the connectivity before the power supply crashed? Please list your Computer specs, and when you purchased it. Do you have antivirus software? What operating System? Desktop or laptop? What brand of router are you connecting to? Based on the description of what you have to do to fix the connectivity problem, I am thinking it is software/driver related. When you reset your pc or manually disable the connection and re-enable it, you are forcing it to establish a new connection to your router, getting a new ip address, what it should be doing already. Do you run system/windows updates?  If the cable works on other computers but not your ethernet connection, then your network card is not functioning properly, either a bad driver, or update of some sort, unless it has failed completely. The date and time problem sounds like it could be related. I need to know your pc specs before I can add more ideas about the problems. Im a computer technician, so I want to help.

I had the same problem. It went away after a while.

Ethernet runs on a different network adapter than Wi-Fi. It may be disabled, and you will have to enable it in control panel network adapter settings.

For the time issue, try re-syncing your clock with the ntp server. Open cmd prompt and enter w32tm /resync.

I use an AVG as my anti-virus system; I've been told to use AVG and I've been told to use MSE. I'm not sure which one to use so I've just stuck with AVG for the time being. My computer is a desktop. My router brand is called: Ubee.

I checked, the ethernet network adapter is connected and I'm using the right one. I tried entering that prompt into the cmd and this is what I received:

Well that's a problem. Try manually going into your clock settings by clicking on it in the bottom right corner. Then go to "Internet Time", and see if the drop-down list allows you to select a windows time server.

This is one of the issues I'm having, even if I manually set up the date and time to my current date and time in about 45-55 minutes It'll just lose it's sync and start going all weird on me again.

How do I do that? Does that require me buying Win 7 or something?
