How do VPS/VPN work?

Featured Replies

VPS stands for Virtual Private Server. They're used as a virtual computer where you can access it almost anywhere through VNC (most cases).

Just see it as another computer and you're running your bots on it for a set fee each period. :)

i would also like to know this information, i have a basic understanding of what it is but not really how it works

VPS: Is basicly, (like said above) a computer you rent, although you don't have physical access to it, you most likely will be able to control it over SSH, or anything else you desire. Be sure to not get a Linux based VPS if you plan on botting! Linux can only be controlled with a terminal, so if you require a graphical workplace (which you need to run OSBot, start and stop scripts etc), you don't have any use of Linux. Be sure to get Windows!

VPN: This is actually something way different, a VPN is used to "mask" your real IP, meaning if you would turn it on and visit a site, your connection would appear different than your normal connection. This is similar to using a proxy, although VPN's are more advanced and the one's ran by bigger companies are way safer to use than proxy's, as they can always read the data you send to them (as everything you do, goes to that proxy server).

Actually with Linux you can install a graphical workspace and it'll run just fine.
