what is the 5!!! MAKES NO SENSE! in the land of canada we just get percentages.

 

The AP Exams are based off a grading scale of 1-5. 1 being the lowest, and 5 being the highest.

 

Different colleges take different scores (usually from 3-5 depending on what college you go to) for college credit, which is why AP classes and exams are quite popular here in the U.S since College is a bit more on the expensive side.
