March 4, 201411 yr Woke up to my void pure this morning standing at rock crabs spam clicking a gate you need to do fremenick trials for. I usually dont bot unless I can babysit it, I.E run on second monitor or if im just laying down or watching tv to make sure this dosen't happen. I thought I set a time on it to run for only 2 hours then take a 20 hour break (was going to sleep and wanted to finish off the last level) but it didn't run so when I ran out of food it just stood there for my guess would be about an hour and a half. I checked my world on my friends list and it was world 365, so not one of the botting worlds. Oh well, I learned my lesson I guess. Question though, am I still safe to bot or should I change my IP/run through a VPN? I still have a zerker pure thats 60/60/45 right now and want to bot its range/mage but i don't know if thats safe to do or not.

I don't know why people think changing IP and playing on the SAME account is going to make a difference. It may be good for another character with a different ip, but using same character (I don't think) will make a difference. Your character doesn't have a ip label in their systems, it's just your ip connected to it, changing it will just make them think you're playing on different WiFi or new ip, or someones on your account, they'll assume the first two (So they don't false ban) now if they see you bot again, if it's an ip ban/ban, your new ip won't take off the half-status bar ban on your account (the green bar.) It'll still be on there obviously, more botting added to it = perm this time. I got banned 1 day, I made a thread on it also, 1 more ban = permanent is what it said. If you wanna bot on another account, yes change IP. tl;dr changing ip won't really help. If you want to change IP, go right ahead it won't hurt, while you're at it, change mac address to be on the safe side. Edited March 4, 201411 yr by Empathyfaith

When you get banned on an account playing on your own IP, your IP will get flagged. That's why people change their IP, because botting on a flagged IP is much more risky, than on a clean IP. March 4, 201411 yr Guess what .. today i found out that .. out of nowhere .. i was on world 365 and i got banned for 2 days .. that's .. weird .. isn't ?
March 4, 201411 yr Guess what .. today i found out that .. out of nowhere .. i was on world 365 and i got banned for 2 days .. that's .. weird .. isn't ? It's not weird at all to get banned for botting, while not being in world 385/386. Suspected accounts are just getting send there to be closer looked at, it doesn't mean you have to be send first to get banned or something. Or what do you mean.. :').

That's why people change their IP, because botting on a flagged IP is much more risky, than on a clean IP. Yeah, I know that. I guess it is smarter to change your IP to play legit. But if you bot on a different IP, yet same account it's still the same. As I said, status bar still shows ban, still has rule applied of "next ban is permanent" so if he gets banned again, he can't change IP to save himself. Imagine this, Earth = Playing Mars = Gets banned Gallifrey = Not banned He was just on Earth after a while, he goes to Mars. He changed his IP while in Mars. No one is here, his main is trying to get to the Gallifrey. Let's say Mars is filled with gas now. Now he's not clean anymore for 2 days. Now he's stuck in Mars for 2 days. Now in Gallifrey he makes a new account, new ip everything. His new accounts are clean and everything. When his main gets out in 2 days from Mars, the gas gave him cancer. If he keeps botting, the cancer will kill him. (Ban hammer) while his other accounts will be fine. Probably the worst, yet funny example. But it's another way to explain it. March 4, 201411 yr With a different IP, the cancer will maybe kill him, and if so, much more slowly =). Very clear example though :'D.
