why cant i view my vps?

I have just purchased a vps and im trying to view it using vnc viewer.   i first installed putty and logged into the vps using putty and then opened up vnc viewer and typed in the ip address and pressed connect.   after i do this it just says failed to connect to remote server.  what am i doing wrong? if you could give me some extensive help real quick pm please.

Try using Remote Desktop Connection. Should be on your computer already.
