what is the point of allocating ram to osbot?

Featured Replies

i was wondering what allocating ram to your bot does, can somone explane this to me please?

Well, RAM is Random Access Memory which essentially is what you run your computer with.

Most computers have 4-8GB of RAM and every application takes a certain percentage of that RAM to run on.

For example, Call of Duty: Ghosts requires 6GB of RAM to run smoothly; Otherwise, well, it doesn't run smoothly. :P

To put it simply, if you allocate lots of RAM to the bot client you'll be able to run more and more bots on the same client.

At least, that's how I see it.

Anyone else got any better explanations?

it is used for temporarily storing information, such as instructions and data, needed to complete a given task. In other words, you need it.

this ^ but how do you actually specifically allocate RAM to osbot? because my laptop has an atrocious Ghz/ processer but has a decent amount of RAM (6GB)

The only way I can think of you allocating more RAM (which is not possible - the program will take the RAM it needs.) is by going to the task manager, going to details and right clicking javaw.exe->Set Priority->High.

That will give the program a higher priority over other applications so RAM isn't shared as evenly, I guess.
