Jagex back in action starting from today. Bans already incoming

Featured Replies

Just bot 10 hours a day with breaks and 2 accounts and you won't get banned.

1-1.5M per day is fine.

How do you know this?

Because it is when majority of work holidays end.

A lot of bans being reported on Advertising other bots isn't allowed. today guys, druids was practically dead at 5pm today, I know that place suffered a quite meaty banwave with more to come, expect herbs to rise once again once supply is dried out like before xmas (will probably take around a week before mules are dry)

These forums have been down so there hasn't been much report today, though I'm sure banwaves were with osbot as well.

At this rate gold price will also go back to its original rates before Christmas, Jagex are coming in hard and are rather pissed.

Jagex does not manually ban these people, they do not just clear out certain areas their own code does which checks areas. You're getting all your information from your own imagination.

No, jagex doesn't waste their time always manually banning. The system they created bans automatically.

That is only half true, they do have an automated system in place but they also do manual work as well, also their automation detection does have a degree of manual work behind it similar to how blizzard and other companies work, it will flag your account and it is upto them to make sure through manual investigation whether small or large, that they hit the right person.

They also have a botbust team in place (botbusting moderate bans) to hit those that weren't picked up by their botwatch detection software, as it isn't completely flawless, no anti botting software is to be honest.

This is my theory through going through around 500+ accounts since 07 release, but is already being concluded as banwaves are starting to get high once again, best of luck people.

Then please tell me, how come people were about to bot through the christmas period and only upto now is the banrate starting to increase again?

If it was purely based on their own code, markets would NOT have been flooded the past fortnight, in fact, farms would of been automatically smacked and everything would of been the same.

They have an automated system in place but also do manual work as well, it's a combination of both.

I imagine that right now JaGeX is only trying to hit skilling bots so it's safe to combat bot?

I really need to get range up :P

lol i bot around that much but its not fine unless each account makes 1.5

Just a little insight on how it works, it's not a so called "banhammer spree" or "jagex finally woke up"

Jagex WANTS botters, how else do they make up membership costs from players that quit over the years.

BUT if there are to many (inflation) it makes an impact on the prices/community, so they have to step in and get it under control

Just like a riot, they ban a few here and there, maybe main accounts so that goldfarmer will quit and give up, whatever the reason.

Jagex will ALWAYS want botters, but not so many that it hurts the game, they still need legit players to.

i remember seeing a jag mod discussing that bots help the community in certain ways, but as per there policy to NEVER allow cheaters, they still have to stop them when they can.

Believe me if jagex wanted to ban every bot in rs, all they have to do is teleport everywhere that has a botting spot, and start banning.

But they dont! They go to certain spots only!, like Pest control for alchers, or Green drags, for drag bots. They NEVER do multiple places because they know they will loose money banning to many of them.

Indeed, they share the same policies as most game companies out there, we pay their salaries, we scratch their back they scratch ours ect.

However... this does not hold as true as it did in the rsbuddy era, when you could run 40 frost dragon bots for 6 months and never get caught.

They are starting to come up with new strategies, including the infamous bond's that were released a few months ago, the wheel of fortune, increased memberships ect. they are finding ways of revenue to replace ours and as such do not depend on us as much as they used to, the need is however still there.. ever so slightly.

I do however, find it completely hilarious that there are users on this forum and others that think Jagex couldn't hand our own asses to us, they could and have already shown they are extremely capable of doing so, november and first half december bans of 07 proved this to a degree and let's not even get started with rs3, p****bot's defences got destroyed and that bot became a joke for months (not sure what it's like now) instant bans and no mercy. Saying you're better than Jagex doesn't make you cool guys, they could ban you anytime they want and are easily capable of doing so.. just thought I'd throw that paragraph in there and agree with you Hashplant.
