December 7, 201312 yr I currently have the following computer specs: Intel core i7 2600k @ 3.4Ghz 16Gb Ddr3 Ram AMD Radeon 7870 2gb Core Edition AsRock>H67M-GE Motherboard (http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=H67M-GE/HT) My computer specs are pretty decent as you see but performance wise it is pretty 'sucky', (Example one I get 50-60Fps on minecraft) So I was wondering on getting an i5 4760k to replace my i7 but I'm not sure if it's actually worth it as I know the i7 2600k can clock alot and due to hyperthreading which the i5 cannot do.. I was also going to replace the 7870 with a Nvidia 770 or 780... or replace the motherboard? Opinions/thoughts what may be wrong or what options to take? Thank you c: Edited December 7, 201312 yr by bigm0ma
December 10, 201312 yr well for starters your 7870 is a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry low end gfx card. I know the i7-2600 can oc to ~3.9-4.0 ghz so no sense in downgrading to something older. Just OC it. Also, what monitor are you using and have you turned off anti-aliasing and v-sync? Honestly id reccomend dropping the same amount into a new gpu as opposed to a cpu. ~200-250 could get you a 660 which would run train on the 7870
