GfX card failure.

Featured Replies

So about a week ago my Gfx card stopped outputting video. The fan on it still spins and my DVD Drive still seems to be fucntioning so i think my CPU/motherboard is fine. Do I just need to have my Gfx card replaced or should I try something else first?

Power supply might be the cause of the initial failure to begin with. Most likely your card "melted" due to inadequate power supply.

Over time, the PSU out decreases so maybe thats the reason? Happened to me before so had to replace both psu and gpu.

Did you try other ports for the video output? Maybe just the one port went bad. Maybe you need to upgrade your driver too.

Yeah tried all the ports :/ And it's not the drivers...

Do you still have a warranty? If not, you might be SOL :/

Does your motherboard have on board video? If so take the gfx card out and plug the monitor into the on board video port

No sir, it does not.

I've had this happen to me before it ended up actually being the drivers. Try booting into safe mode and seeing if you can update the drivers, amd as a last resort, get a new one (if you have a warrenty then great) Sorry to hear this happened to ya, ik it sucks.

How Can I boot into safe mode? I have no way to see anything on-screen...

As soon as you turn your computer on, spam the shit out of the F8 key lol. And go from there, it should work. If it doesnt then your gpu cores are messed up.

What the fuck is a gfx card? Do you mean a graphics card?

Get a new power supply.
