Featured Replies

Hey guys!

I ordered the i7-4930k and ASUS Rampage IV Extreme yesterday.

It should be delivered tomorrow.

So to install this I basically need to tear down my computer and redo all my water cooling stuff etc. I figure I could take some pictures and show the process of installing the new components.

Computer specs:

Processor: i7-4930k @ 4.8 GHz

Motherboard: Rampage IV Extreme

Video Cards: 2x 7970 @ 1.2GHz core clock 1.8GHz memory clock

Ram: 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance 1866MHz

PSU: Corsair AX1200

Storage:
1x 128gb Samsung 840 Pro
2x 1TB 7200 rpm hard drives

Watercooling specs:
XSPC 360x80mm radiator
XSPC 240x25mm radiator
swiftec D5 PWM pump
1/2 ID 3/4 OD tubing

a shitload of fans

I hope the next gen arch and 2 extra cores is worth it haha. I've hit the cpu bottleneck with Solidworks already lol. But Good news, I can still sell my 2600k for about 200$ lol

I love that mobo:)

I'm currently running an i7 4930k also with dual 660's. It's quite nice.;)

Hopefully I will too tongue.png

I'm upgrading from some low-end msi Z68 which has given me nothing but stability issues lol.

I'm excited to see what this baby can do! Expecially under water and paired with 2 7970's overclocked to 1050mhz tongue.png

V Nice!

I installed multiple cores in mine, 2 duel core i-7's instead of 1 quad core to replace the old i-7 that melted my heatsink (didn't use watercooled like an idiot) which i am now

Now i am running smooth ;p although my room get's SO HOT STILL!!!!!!

Watercooling just removes the heat of your processors quicker. It still has to dump it into the room via convection - I usually shut the vents in my room and crack the window in the winter
