I just downloaded the client and it keeps freezing during Connecting to remote server...

I just updated java and downloaded JDK. I would appreciate any information and help.

Go to the apple in the top left corner and check for updates - make sure you are on the latest OSX (mountain lion) or else you can't get the appropriate java.
I could have sworn I had updated my computer like yesterday. But I didn't.

Updating my computer and I will let you know after
