biggin215
Just received a two day suspension. I'm going to leave out specific dates and other identifying information for obvious reasons. Right off the bat, I want to say I think I messed up with my procedure, and I do not blame the script author or OSBOT. I'm new to botting and expect to learn the hard way a few times. I typically run bots for less than 3-4 hours at a time, but I will run them for anywhere from 0 to ~9 hours total on some days (with breaks every 2 or 3 hours). I accidentally botted for 6.5 hours straight one time a couple of weeks ago. The message (probably canned?): "Our macro detection system has been monitoring your account closely and has detected that you are using illegal 3rd party software [blah blah blah]... Our team have reviewed the evidence and can confirm that you were using illegal botting software. Gagex are able to accurately detect all illegal 3rd party software..." I'm not mentioning the specific scripts that I think led to the ban. I'm concerned about giving too much detail, Gagex seeing this, and having my ban extended - I will DM the author(s). The one I think led to the ban is a very good paid script. The other possibility is a free on with variable click speeds. Assuming the time and date in the notice are the actual time and date of the offense leading to the ban, I know exactly what script was running and the incident that likely led to detection. The script had been running for probably 2.5-3 hours. My account disconnected while the script was running. The script logged back in and continued working, but then tripped up on the bank pin input screen. I've seen this happen before and have been locked out of my bank for 10 minutes because the bot input the wrong pin repeatedly. I should have disabled my bank pin when I first saw it happen. Instead, I would just enter my bank pin then run the script. I disregarded the possibility of a DC and re-log leading to the same problem. I used this specific script A LOT. Another possibility is a script I used which had variable click speeds for accomplishing a task. I set it to the max speed. It only ran for maybe an hour, but it's the only other script I used on the day listed for the ban. I doubt this specific one is what led to the ban. I rarely used it. Live and learn. I won't be botting that account again. ETA: I have been using Runelite in stealth mode. Maybe I should have been using mirror mode? FushigiBot
Welcome to botting. You will always, eventually get banned. Do not use accounts you are not willing to lose. Use throwaway accs or those specifically made for botting. If you want to get some levels on a main, accept the risk that you can get banned and practice on other accounts in order to learn how to minimize bans. biggin215
Yeah, it wasn't unexpected. I don't want to lose the account permanently so I won't be botting it anymore. A part of me wishes I went whole hog on the botting sooner so I'd have even better stats. I'll probably start a few new accounts for testing and see how far I get. Botting is fun in and of itself.
