I'm wondering if I can reduce ban rate by possibly botting for a limited amount of time and then playing legitimately for a similar/greater interval on the same account. Will this work better than just botting for short intervals and then breaking?

Yes

Running tests somewhat along these lines right now. Can't say how much it will reduce my ban rates, if any, though.

Sure will, but I should note, I'm not using OSBot or any other injection clients. So my ban rate is already lower than most, but as of recent, I've seen as fast as 48 hour bans, which is why I'm now trying a mixture of botting/playing legit, at least until the accounts are ready to begin farming. Also getting some combat stats to help look less like a botted account in general.

Yes.

If you're playing legit on a main or something I would recommend breaks, but otherwise if you're doing something like suicide botting just don't worry about breaks.
