Music tracks you hold dear

Featured Replies

Do you know this *one* track that you would definitely recommend to others?
Do you think that the one song you love, is a song everyone should love?
Or would you just like to share your passion for a specific song with the world?

Then this is THE thread in which to do so!

Post a youtube link of a music track you, for whatever reason, hold dear, and explain why that specific song means something to you.

I'll start off:

A very special song to me is the song Forever and Always by Parachute.

My reason for calling this song special to me are simple;

Someone very dear to me dedicated this song to me, and every time I listen to it it reminds me of her, of the undying friendship I share with her that has survived many things in a very short period of time, of the pain and heartache she and I both felt and of the circumstances that drove us away from each other.

Me and my ex were together for 2 years, went to our first raves together and SHM was our favorite group. We raved and we loved. "There was a time, I met a girl of a different kind. We ruled the world, I thought I'd never lose her out of sight. We were so young, I think of her now and then. I still hear the songs reminding me of a friend." gets me every time sad.png

Cam, what appeals to me about rock and metal genres is the fact that most songs seem to strongly depict a larger story.

Many things written in the style of rock and metal tend to have a lot of indirect symbolism in it, making it easy to relate to certain songs. Why is this specific song by Rise against so special for you? :)

Aeterna, I know how you feel...Some songs just keep reminding you of a special somebody, giving the song a whole new meaning.

To me it sends a message that you don't need to be rich, or brilliant, or even successful to be living life to it's fullest. It gives the feeling of relationships over material.
