What excactly is this? because its blocked on my network, and the only way to start the bot is trough a VPN, wich isnt really a option since i use free trial accounts that are limited to 100mb :

It's probably to make a connection with the client. Like the connection to log in on the client? I'm not sure though. 

Most likely they are connecting to the remote server where the account information is stored, so they are able to validate accounts - I'm almost positive all of the bots do this nowadays.
