core i5 2500k bad performance

Featured Replies

Hello

I'm testing to run Osbot on a core i5 2500k and its performing horribly.

Gtx 560.

99% load on 4 tabs and fps drops.

Previously ran Osbot on a 4 core amd 3.0 ghz, gtx 460, could run 6 tabs without lag, reached 99% load at 8 tabs.

Is this to be expected from i5 2500k or can i do something to fix it, like switch OS, any specific drivers, anything?

Mem leak.

Can you explain this more in depth? I dont know that much about computing.

There is a memory leak in the current version of OSBot causing memory to 'leak' out... Basically taking up more memory than it should.

If your talking about RAM then that does not seem to be the cause, because i have plenty of RAM left, according to Resource Monitor only 25% of my total ram is used.

But 95-99% of CPU is used.

Please explain further?

Yeah, until you fully understand how memory leaks occur and when they can happen you will realize that OSBot has HUGE memory leak problems that are not only affecting memory utilization but cpu utilization as well..

I personally believe who ever developed the client (The threading and class loading parts anyways..) personally sucks and needs to go back to school to learn how to properly close things...

I just tested running version 1.7.27 instead of .28 but there is the same 99% cpu usage at 4 tabs, so it is at least not the latest release that is causing it.

Any other thoughts of solutions?

Instead of tabs, try to run everyone on own client. It should help, but still osbot has some problems...

I will test it, but the thing is I'm able to run 8 tabs on a technically WORSE cpu and graphics card with the same amount of lag as 4 tabs on this "technically" better cpu, wich makes me think is is CPU related.

Keep the ideas coming.

Update: i just tried running 4 .exes instead of 4 tabs, but the CPU is still at 95-99% usage. (Also this method use about twice as much RAM wich in my case doesnt matter, but doesnt help either).

Man, im really disappointed with this piece of shit i5 2500k! Lol...

Yeah i have noticed that this site does use up more cpu than "other" sites i have used, but i think its a small price to pay for the quality of the client and lack of downtime that i was used too. I started spreading my bots ccross 3 seperate devices and i am far from using all my resorces, i would say just combine  your old device with your knew one and you should have plenty of resources to run a profitable bot farm and in a month or two pay off your new device!  :D

I like how everyone shouts mem leak, yet none of you have a clue what the fuke you are on about.

Please go into further details if you can help me fix this?

Your cpu is fine. Use only one instance of the bot per account and you'll be fine.

Well the thing is (described it above) that i think that it should perform much better, based on the fact that i can run 7 tabs without lag on a cheaper and slower AMD processor (4 core 3.0 ghz).....

I have been testing the 2500k with some other programs, running multiple copies of them and its actually perfoming much better than my AMD at doing certain things, but when it comes to OSbot its just pure crap, so thats why im asking here if there might be a fix to this, like some drivers i should have, some operating system or anything else?

OSbot is very good but nowhere near perfect. The issue is with OSbot not your hardware, use multiple instances of the client until OSbot is improved. Their is no other solution apart from this that is available to you.
