Hey fellas, I remember starting out with photoshop myself being very confused about a ton of things so I decided to make a little tutorial on the frequently asked questions and provide you with some links/tutorials aswell.

Q:"What are these tools?"

A:This link contains very useful information about customizing the toolbar and what the tools are - https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/tools.html . If you want to know how to use them go here - https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/using-tools.html

Q:"Where can I download different fonts?"

A:

 www.font.com

 www.dafont.com
 www.freefonts.com
 www.urbanfonts.com

Q:"When I download the font, where do I put it?"

A: Navigate to your fonts folder usually in program files > adobe > adobe photoshop

Q:"Where do I download renders?"

A: deviantArt or planetrenders.net

Q:"Where do I download brushes?"

A: deviantArt or photoshopbrushes.com

Q:"How do I make a signature?"

A: There is really no easy way to this, you gotta practice and go through many tutorials and eventually develop your own style and preferences. But keep in mind, no matter how good you think your style is you still need to keep an eye on "technicalities" such as flow, light source, depth etc. For starters go to youtube tutorials or www.sigtutorials.com .

Q:"How do I make a wallpaper?"

A: Try with this - http://pixelcurse.com/photoshop-2/100-adobe-photoshop-wallpaper-tutorials

or simply youtube tutorials.

Q:"How do I use the pen tool?"

A:  thazumi.deviantart.com/art/Pen-Tool-Tutorial-63428363 although maybe a bit advanced

Q:"Where can I find good c4d packs, effect packs, fractals etc?"

A: Don't be too lazy and look for them yourself, just google it! But mostly deviantArt.

Q:"A guy in tutorial is using shortcuts, what are the most used shortcuts?"

A: https://www.nobledesktop.com/shortcuts/photoshopcs5/pc (keep in mind this is for CS5, but I imagine CS6 is no different)

Q:"What are SOTM's, SOTW's, WOTM's etc?"

A: Usually abbreviations for signature of the week, month or wallpaper of the month, week etc. Competitions held between designers on various sites where people may vote freely.

Q:"Whats the difference between jpg, bmp, gifx etc formats?"

A: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/419584/what-is-the-difference-between-jpg-jpeg-png-bmp-gif-tiff-i

Q:"Putting a c4d or an effect in makes it go all over my picture?"

A: You need to change the blending mode to "lighten" or "screen".

More yet to come, these are just the ones I had on my mind atm.

If you have any questions you think I should add feel free to post them here and I'll add them here (with an answer) later tonight.

I'm curious about what light source means?

Do you mean like 3D mode in photoshop?

Or can I use a light source on 2D images too?
